Schwartz Insurance Group always strives to give back to the community. Our Volunteer Committee’s winter charity event was a canned food drive to benefit Louisville’s Dare to Care Food Bank and the Ronald McDonald House.
Dare to Care partners with nearly 300 local social service agencies, such as food pantries, shelters and emergency kitchens to distribute food to our community – and the charity also fights hunger through programs (such as Kids Café, Backpack Buddy, Mobile Pantry, etc.) that target the most vulnerable individuals.
Since 1974, Ronald McDonald House has helped millions of families with sick children find comfort and support when they need it most by creating programs that strengthen them during difficult times.
Schwartz Insurance Group’s canned food drive was a success and the donations were received with gratitude. Ronald McDonald House sent the Volunteer Committee a thank-you letter.
Here is an excerpt:
Thank you for enabling us to provide our unique brand of hospitality – compassionate care to every family who walks through our door. Your donation of food items makes it possible for us to embrace families in need.
Schwartz Insurance Group has been honored in the past for its involvement in local philanthropy. The Schwartz Opportunity Support (SOS) Fund is the non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) philanthropic outlet of SIG. Clients, friends and associates are provided opportunities - and encouraged - to "cultivate trusted relationships" by giving back to the community.
The SOS fund supports a variety of causes throughout the year (The Dream Factory, March of Dimes, Mom's Closet, American Red Cross, Harbor House, and others). If you or someone you know would like to make a donation to SOS, please contact Schwartz team member Zane Maples.
