Every month, Schwartz Insurance Group selects a peer-nominated associate to receive a Core Value Award. The winner is chosen because they "lived" one of our agency's core values - typically an event or accomplishment above and beyond the call of duty in serving our customers. For the month of November, Austin Hatter has "lived" our core value of "There’s Only Opportunity."
Here's his story:
It’s hard to meet a whole new team of co-workers, study for an exam you MUST pass, and learn how to provide for the service needs of a large roster of new clients. The expectations can be daunting.
It was that challenge that faced our youngest and most enthusiastic associate. It was an opportunity to prove to himself and others that he could deliver for the team and for clients, even under stressful circumstances.
Seeing him excel in his new role – managing a book of business and learning new skills every day with support from both teammates and leaders – is rewarding for all. It’s Austin Hatter’s time and There’s Only Opportunity!
Here, in his own words, is a little more information about Austin:
What do you find most challenging about your new role with Schwartz Insurance Group?
Learning all the ins and outs of new, unfamiliar companies and their websites, as well as the details of the coverage options and packages they offer.
Are you a Louisville native? If so, we have to ask: UK or U of L?
I consider myself a Louisville native (actually from a town 30 miles south), and I’m definitely a UK fan.
If you could vacation anywhere in the world, where would you visit?
I would really like to travel to Egypt to see the Great Pyramid of Giza, or perhaps vacation on the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia.
Who gets your vote for the greatest rock band in the world?
It would be hard to choose just one, but some favorites are Boston, Fleetwood Mac, Queen and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Do you have any personal interests or hobbies?
I enjoy playing guitar and drums, and just listening to music as much as possible.
What adjective best describes you?
Generous. I love helping people, and just knowing I’ve made their day better feels rewarding.
Are you a dog person or a cat person?
I love both dogs and cats, but cats are much easier to take care of since they clean themselves and have their own “bathroom” – ha.
Congratulations on your Core Value Award, Austin - and thank you for doing such a terrific job for Team Schwartz. You are appreciated!
