Every month, Schwartz Insurance Group selects a peer-nominated associate to receive a Core Value Award. The winner is chosen because they "lived" one of our agency's core values - typically an event or accomplishment above and beyond the call of duty in serving our customers. For the months of June and July, Donna Robbins has "lived" our core value of "Building on a Legacy."
Here's her story:
Reducing one’s hours at work is a hard decision, even though the slower pace is usually well deserved.
Schwartz has relied on our associates’ long tenures for many years, and we are quick to support a smooth transition to a part-time schedule when it is appropriately earned. But we are not immune to unexpected circumstances and changes.
When that situation presented itself, we turned to an associate who had earned her part-time transition, but who still held a strong connection to her team and clients. Having her assistance was a true godsend!
We’re lucky to have trusted relationships and dedicated team members. Donna Robbins delivered when we needed her the most. She is truly “Building on a Legacy!”
Here, in her own words, is a little more information about Donna:
Are you a Louisville native? How long have you worked in the insurance industry?
Yes, I am a native of Louisville. I’ve been working in the insurance business since 1976 – 47 years.
What adjective best describes you?
I can’t choose just one. But I enjoy cultivating relationships of trust and loyalty with my clients and friends.
If you could vacation anywhere in the world, where would you visit?
I would love to see Iceland and Ireland. I have been many places all over the globe through the years, but my current goal is to visit as many U.S. national parks as I can. So far, I have been to six out of the top ten. In the spring of 2024, I will be visiting Montana and Wyoming to see Glacier National Park, Yellowstone and The Grant Tetons. Last on my list will be Yosemite.
Do you have any pets?
No, I don’t have any pets – just grand-dogs and cats, and, of course, grandchildren!
Any personal interests or hobbies?
I enjoy going to the lake and traveling around the U.S. I also like to read.
What’s your favorite movie of all time?
There are too many to name!
If you could go back in time and give your 18-year-old self a bit of advice, what would it be?
Don’t sweat the small stuff! Be happy, stay humble, and be grateful for your life! God has got this!
