Every month, Schwartz Insurance Group selects a peer-nominated associate to receive a Core Value Award. The winner is chosen because they "lived" one of our agency's core values - typically an event or accomplishment above and beyond the call of duty in serving our customers. For the month of June, Deb Kuhn has "lived" our core value of "Consider it Done."
Here's her story:
At times, the insurance business can be stressful and overwhelming, with too many tasks in line or details to manage. But we take care of our clients!
Even during the busiest times, it’s critical to remain accurate, detail-oriented, caring, and efficient. And while our clients now expect Schwartz associates to deliver, it’s our consistency and the resulting trust in our abilities that stands out.
Deb Kuhn has evolved into a true expert in the field, delivering for clients and her team. It is gratifying and comforting – because with Deb, clients and teammates can always Consider it Done!
Here, in her own words, is a little more information about Deb:
You’ve been a member of Team Schwartz since 2016. What do you find most challenging and rewarding about your current role as a Benefits Advocate?
I really try to anticipate a client’s needs and concerns in order to be proactive, but it can be quite a challenge. When I’m able to help a client resolve a difficult situation, it always feels rewarding.
If you could travel anywhere in the world (money being no object) where would you visit?
I love traveling and I've been lucky enough to do quite a bit of it over the years - from Honolulu to Istanbul. But I haven't yet made it over to Ireland, and since I’m (unsurprisingly) mostly Irish, I feel compelled to visit the Emerald Isle one day. Another goal is to make it up to Alaska. I'm not a fan of cold temps and snow, but the beautiful scenery will make the trip worthwhile, I'm sure.
Do you have any personal interests or hobbies?
Many! Besides traveling, I love reading, hiking in the mountains, wine-tasting, and playing pinball on my Twilight Zone pinball machine.
The book or the movie?
The movie adaptation rarely ever does a good book justice.
Are there any pets in the Kuhn household?
Oh, yes. Two cats. Kylo Ren is all black and Princess Leia is black and white. Leia is made of sunshine, but her brother Kylo is the Prince of Darkness.
Rock and roll or country music?
I love lots of different genres, but I really don't like country music. (Except for Johnny Cash. The Man in Black is pretty cool.)
What may we be surprised to learn about you?
I'm a published author and freelance writer/editor. It's a great passion of mine!
Congratulations on your Core Value Award, Deb - and thank you for doing such a great job for Schwartz Insurance Group. You are appreciated!
