Here's her story:
Benefits are challenging to understand for most in their native language. Start translating to another’s language and it’s even tougher. Spanish words do not always align with health related terms.
That was our challenge – preparing materials and translating during open enrollment for a dominantly Spanish-speaking set of employees. But, with good support, capable skills and a helpful attitude, it was easy! It’s called great teamwork and excellent service.
Jesse Abbott saved the day and helped us deliver for a large new client. She acted altruistically and never hesitates to "Get The Juices Flowing!"
Here, in her own words, is a little more information about Jesse:
During the many years you've been a valued Schwartz team member, what's the most important thing you've learned from a co-worker or client?
Small talk makes me uncomfortable, but in my work I have to be able to talk with anyone, anywhere. I once received a very valuable tip on small talk with strangers - strategies I use to this day. I still don't like small talk, but I hate awkward silences and this tip does the trick!
Let's pretend you never began working in the insurance field. What career would you have chosen?
I would have been a theatrical costume designer, putting my creative side to work.
What's your favorite movie of all time?
Earth Girls Are Easy, starring Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis.
Who gets your vote for the greatest rock band of all time?
Are you a Louisville native? If so, we have to ask: UK or U of L?
Definitely a Louisville native - so of course I'm for U of L.
Congratulations on your Core Value Award, Jesse - and thank you for doing such a terrific job for Schwartz Insurance Group. You are appreciated!
