Meet Core Value Winner: Nick Hosch - February 2019

February 18, 2019

Every month, Schwartz Insurance Group selects a peer-nominated associate to receive a Core Value Award. The winner is chosen because they "lived" one of our agency's core values - typically an event or accomplishment above and beyond the call of duty in serving our customers. This month, Nick Hosch has "lived" our core value of "There's Only Opportunity."

Here's his story:

Sometimes an opportunity arises that you just didn’t expect.  But, if you accept the challenge and plow ahead, there can be new roles to learn and new experiences to enjoy.

When our lead “open enrollment” specialist was already committed to other clients, someone had to go onto the plant floor, communicate about benefits and answer the questions ... with NO prior experience in doing so!

Nick Hosch was willing, able and wonderful!  He offered to cover for team member Jenna without hesitation, met 100+ people at the company of one of our larger clients and delivered on our promise.  It was a perfect embodiment of “There’s Only Opportunity!”

Here, in his own words, is a little more information about Nick:

You joined Team Schwartz in February of 2018. How has your role as a Benefits Advocate changed over the last twelve months? What have been the biggest challenges and rewards?

I wouldn't necessarily say that my role has changed over the last year - but I do believe that I've gotten better at being a Benefits Advocate in several ways. The biggest challenges are claim-related issues, and because they are always so challenging, getting them fully resolved feels like the biggest reward. There was one claim in particular that I worked on for about nine months. When it was finally resolved, I felt like I had accomplished something tremendous for our client.

What adjective best describes you?

Adaptable.

If you could vacation anywhere in the world (money being no object), where would you visit?

I would definitely like to fly over to Europe and then take a road trip, seeing as many countries as I possibly could, visiting London, Paris, Rome, Madrid, Florence, Barcelona and traveling through the Swiss Alps. And while I'm over there, I would have to take in a soccer game at some point along the way. I really think I'd enjoy the crazy atmosphere!

Do you have any hobbies or personal interests?

I follow NFL games and I'm a Houston fan - and I'm a University of Louisville season ticket holder. Fantasy football is another pastime I enjoy.

What's your favorite movie of all time?

The Departed.

Rock and roll or country music?

Rock and roll!

Congratulations on your Core Value Award, Nick - and thank you for doing such a great job for Schwartz Insurance Group. You are appreciated!
