Every month, Schwartz Insurance Group selects a peer-nominated associate to receive a Core Value Award. The winner is chosen because they "lived" one of our agency's core values - typically an event or accomplishment above and beyond the call of duty in serving our customers. This month, Scott Schwartz has "lived" our core value of "Consider it Done."
Here's his story:
Just do it! Easily said, not always easily done. It surely was the case here at SIG as we considered how to best integrate multiple agencies into one. The increase in clients and complexity was most acute in personal insurance. Three new companies, four new producers, multiple new associates ... it is challenging to integrate and simplify and succeed.
Someone had to take on the project. Enter owner Scott Schwartz. He just did it! He aligned clients by rep and assigned producers a personal contact. We now have a plan and a path. When Scott's involved, you can "Consider it Done!"
Here, in his own words, is a little more information about Scott:
When did you first begin working in the insurance industry? Did you always know you would follow in your father's footsteps and continue building a legacy at Schwartz Insurance Group?
My first job in the insurance field was here at SIG, starting in 1990. I had no intention of following in my father's footsteps. It began as a short-term summer job - and it turned into twenty-eight years! And I've thoroughly enjoyed it.
What has been the most rewarding part of your job as a Strategic Advisor at SIG?
I enjoy helping people - whether it's career-related or otherwise. The insurance industry provides a way for me to meet a multitude of people and enjoy many new friendships.
Is there any place in the world you haven't been that you would like to visit one day?
There are far too many to list, but I've heard that Hawaii is beautiful and well worth the trip.
If you could go back in time and give your eighteen-year-old self a bit of advice, what would it be?
Enjoy yourself and find something to do that you really like. Don't worry too much about the little stuff - you won't even remember it after a while anyway.
Do you have any hobbies or interests?
I like spending time with my family and getting out for a run.
What adjective best describes you?
Magnanimous.
Look ahead ten years. What do you see happening at Schwartz Insurance Group?
More of the same success we've had - slow, steady growth and helping lots of clients.
