Every month, Schwartz Insurance Group selects a peer-nominated associate to receive a Core Value Award. The winner is chosen because they "lived" one of our agency's core values - typically an event or accomplishment above and beyond the call of duty in serving our customers. This month, we have two winners! Ginger Osbourne (pictured right) and Monica Watts (pictured below) have both "lived" our core value of "There's Only Opportunity." Here's their story:
Change is good, but change isn’t easy. When you’ve worked somewhere for many years, suddenly heading in a different direction can feel a bit strange.
New computer system, new work friends and, yes, even new opportunities! That’s what a merger can bring. As long as you keep your attitude positive, it can only lead to a positive outcome. There’s growth and learning and opportunity ahead.
Ginger Osbourne and Monica Watts bring that type of energy with them every day – and they are appreciated! It’s why we say, "There’s only opportunity!"
Here, in their own words, is a little more information about Ginger and Monica:
Congratulations on joining the team here at Schwartz Insurance Group! You've both been with us for two months now. When did you first begin working in the insurance field?
Ginger: I first started my career in the insurance field back in 1990.
Monica: I began working in insurance about 15 years ago - five years in St. Louis, Missouri and the last 10 years in Louisville.
What do you find most rewarding about being a Personal Advisor in Individual Client Services? What has been the most challenging part?
Ginger: I enjoy helping customers understand their policies. It can be difficult, though, when they only care about the price of their insurance instead of what their actual coverage entails.
Monica: I love getting to know my clients over the years. However, persuading the newer ones to take time to meet with me so I can educate them on their insurance needs can sometimes be challenging.
Are you Louisville natives? What do you like most about living in the Derby City?
Ginger: No, I hail from the Buckeye state. South Point, Ohio is where I grew up. As for living in Louisville, I enjoy the concerts, plays, restaurants and, of course, the atmosphere that surrounds the Kentucky Derby.
Monica: I'm originally from Arkansas. I love that there are so many lakes to visit so close to Louisville.
A question that must be asked: UK or UofL?
Monica: The University of Kentucky!
Ginger: Well, I don't have a big preference. If I had to pick I would have to say U.K. But ... Go Hogs!
Do you have any interests or hobbies?
Ginger: Decorating, crafts, shopping - finding good deals.
Monica: Boating, and I also love baseball. I really like going to thrift stores or garage sales and buying items to refurbish.
If you could vacation anywhere in the world (money being no object), where would you go and why?
Monica: Australia! I have friends down there.
Ginger: I would love to go to Greece. My husband and I have never been there and I think it would be a great new adventure.
Dogs or cats?
Ginger: I'm extremely fond of cats.
Monica: Dogs!
The book or the movie?
Ginger: I always prefer the movie.
Monica: I enjoy movies more.
What brings you true happiness in life?
Ginger: My children and my family. And I'm thrilled to announce that I have a granddaughter, named Paisley, coming in June!
Monica: Spending time with family and friends - or being on the lake!
Congratulations on your Core Value Awards, ladies - and thank you for doing such an exemplary job for Schwartz Insurance Group. You are appreciated!
