Every month, Schwartz Insurance Group selects a peer-nominated associate to receive a Core Value Award. The winner is chosen because they "lived" one of our agency's core values - typically an event or accomplishment above and beyond the call of duty in serving our customers. For December, we have three winners: Lisa Burns, Ray Hatter and Ruth Neunlist-Conn have all lived the core value of “Consider it Done.” (Photo-clockwise: Ray, Ruth and Lisa.)
Here's their story:
Unexpected challenges are always so very, well…unexpected! Fortunately, one thing we DO expect around here is selfless teamwork and that was the exact response when our Medicare expert became ill – just as the annual open enrollment period had begun.
Time was short and our clients needed help. The “to do’s” had to be “to done.” Enter Team Rescue! These three came together to coordinate a plan to guide every caller and visitor, handle new business and train them to use Medicare.gov – and manage all the other related issues. It was a symphony of support.
The spirit of teamwork overcomes every emergency. Lisa Burns, Ray Hatter and Ruth Neunlist-Conn were all guardian angels for our Medicare expert, Charlie. He – and we – could simply Consider it Done!
Here, in their own words, is a little more information about Lisa, Ray and Ruth:
Ruth, you joined Team Schwartz over a year ago. Can you tell us what you find most challenging and rewarding in your role as Benefits Advocate?
Ruth: Acclimating to new co-workers and job duties is always challenging at first, but I have a great work environment and team. Helping my clients navigate the world of insurance is rewarding.
Ray, how long have you worked in the insurance industry?
Ray: I’ve worked as an insurance agent for over 38 years now.
Lisa, you’ve been Schwartz’s Director of First Impressions for many years. What do you find most rewarding about your role?
Lisa: I love helping people and getting them to the right person – but it can be challenging sometimes!
Are you all Louisville natives?
Ruth: No, I was born and raised in Southern Illinois.
Ray: I am from Louisville – but I graduated from WKU so I can’t choose between the UK and UofL teams.
Lisa: I am a Bardstown, KY native, but I grew up in Connecticut. I eventually moved back to Louisville, and I’ve lived here for over 30 years.
If you could go back in time and give your 18-year-old self a bit of advice, what would it be?
Ruth: Be kind to yourself. Stop putting everyone’s happiness before your own!
Ray: Buy more stock!
Lisa: Learn as much as you can and travel abroad. Don’t sweat the small stuff and count your blessings every day.
What adjective best describes you?
Ruth: Unassuming.
Ray: Conscientious.
Lisa: Confident!
Congratulations on your Core Value Award, Lisa, Ray and Ruth - and thank you for doing such an excellent job for Schwartz Insurance Group. You are appreciated!
